He's All That

He's All That Review

2/5 stars

I began watching this movie with low expectations. I hadn't heard the best about it and this kind of genre isn't my style but I don't need to be an expert to spot the many mishaps of this film.

From Tiktoker to entrepreneur to singer, is there anything Addison Rae can't do? That's what I wondered before watching He's All That. With Addison playing the lead character and an unrealistic story, He’s All That isn’t actually all that good. Baring the target audience’s age, the characters are potential role models and show how to be fake, arrogant teens who change everything about them for a kiss. Compared to its inspiration, every y2k teen movie, it’s shameful and its number 1 spot on Netflix’s most watched is likely due to hate-watchers. However, looking on the bright side, it had some adequate moments that only just took my finger away from pressing the ‘exit’ button.

The story follows Padgett Sawyer (Addison Rae in her first acting role) as a social media influencer whose reaction to her boyfriend (Payton Meyer) gets caught on video and shared online. She then makes a bet with her friend (Maddison Pettis) to make the most unpopular guy in the school, Cameron (Tanner Buchanan) prom king.

The story itself is unrealistic and far-fetched. The students drive to school in fancy convertibles and the most popular student is a famous singer. How many schools have you been to where this is the case? The only character who portrayed an actual teen, Cameron, was converted into a ‘hot’ guy and became popular. It shows teenagers that they need to be popular and change their look, a way you can express yourself. With a wide audience of Addison's fans being young, her character may be mistaken for a role model but I think that Padge is far from one. I personally cannot believe this is where film is heading: social media influencers.

I'm just going to come out and say it: Addison didn't play her role very well. She showed all the correct emotions in scenes but sometimes they were overexaggerated but sometimes they weren't exaggerated enough like she was just reading from a script adding nothing special. I also noticed how she smiled throughout most of her performance like she does in her Tiktoks and she needs to refrain from linking the two because they don't go well together. Her character, Padgett, was horrible, which I guess means Addison could play that personality well. Padgett was fake but could be nice when she wanted to be.

Cameron began as the relatable character, for me. He was unpopular, wasn't the greatest looking but none of that really matters. He was a nice guy. Although he stays kind throughout, the rest of him is history. (I'm aware I'm criticizing most teen movie characters but it would have been a lot nice for him to stay him. However, since it's the storyline and a similar storyline as most 00's style teen movie, I'll not criticize his makeover anymore). Unlike Addison, Tanner played his role well and his style of character was portrayed decently.

Also, I noticed there were a few mistakes in the film that (backed up by Tiktok) were white obvious. Firstly, Padge hands out flyers in one scene however she doesn't actually pick any up. She just pretends to do so while the full pile of flyers sits on her hand. Secondly, in a scene showing her connecting with her followers, she 'takes off' her makeup but she doesn't actually take any off. The wipe was clean and her face was till coated in makeup.

Toy Story 2
Since I have done Toy Story 1, I should do the rest. Toy Story 2 is another fun-filled adventure where Woody gets mixed up in a yard sale and a toy collector takes him and attempts to sell him to a toy museum in Tokyo along with other characters from Woody's Roundup: Jessie, Bullseye and Stinky Pete.

Buzz tries to save him but Woody actually wants to go! Will Buzz convince him to come home to Andy.
This is a really great movie because it is another adventure with comedy, sadness and a happy ending so get your popcorn and be sure to watch this with all the family.
If you enjoy this, you may also the like Toy Story 3 and 4. There are also 4 Toy Story short movies so be sure to watch them too if your a fan. they're called Hawaiian Vacation, Lamp Life, Small Fry and Partysaurus Rex.
Toy Story
Toy Story was the first ever film to be fully computer-animated. It's a story about a toy called Woody, who is voiced by Tom Hanks, and a new space toy called Buzz Lightyear. Woody was Andy's favourite toy but now that Buzz has arrived, that is all about to change. At first, Woody hates Buzz so he pushes him out the window...
Will the other toys forgive him for what he has done and will Woody ever go back to being Andy's favourite.
I like this movie because it's great to watch with the whole family and it is one of four movies, which each show different adventures Buzz and Woody go on. I also think that the animation is really great. It's a fun movie to watch. Although Woody doesn't like Buzz, he has to work with him to save their lives from Sid and make friends while doing so.
If you enjoy Toy Story, there are also three other movies including a Toy Story four that is out now!Image result for toy story woody and buzz"

Incredibles 2
I love this movie more and more each time I watch it and I've now watched it 2 times since it was released it from the cinema and I also watched it at the cinema with my mum and my 14 year old brother and they'll both agree when I say that this is a must-see family film!

I like this movie because it has the superheroes saving the day it also has a great comedy side when Mr. Incredible has no choice but to watch the kids when Elastigirl has to go away for work. While she is away, Mr. Incredible finds out something strange about his son, Jack Jack. Meanwhile, Elastigirl has some problems of her own...
It his a great movie because it has action and comedy and adventure. The last time I watched this film was a few months after its release and I couldn't stop laughing but, at the same time, I was worried for Elastigirl (I won't reveal why as it may spoil the film). I advise all ages to watch this movie with the family or by yourself and you will probably feel the same way about the movie as I do.

Dumbo

If you have not yet seen dumbo, I will not spoil it too much. However, I shall put some of the plot on.
I saw dumbo at the cinema just a few weeks after it was released and I thought it was amazing! I saw the original when I was very young and didn't enjoy as much as some other Disney films but I thought it was fairly good. Most of all, however, I enjoyed the songs.
I thought Tim Burton did a brilliant job on this movie. I could tell it was him from the music as sometimes directors hire the same composer and it sounded similar to the music in Edward Scissorhands. Somehow, it brought out the magic in the movie in a very creative way. From the moment dumbo rose from the ground, you could not see his feelings through his expressions but hear his feelings through the music. Danny Elfman did a spectacular job in this film.
I thought the cast was great and they did some brilliant acting in this movie. Collette is played by Eva Green, who starred in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. She was amazing and also did an amazing job in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children which Tim Burton also directed and I'm not surprised he wanted her again in yet another astonishing masterpiece. Colin Farrell also starred as Holt, who along with the rest of the circus crew, saves dumbo and his mother and reunites them once again. Danny DeVito also stars and plays a poor circus owner in need of money and a showstopper. Michael Keaton plays Vandemere who helps the circus if Medici, the circus owner, gives him his show, dumbo.
And of course, Tim Burton directs dumbo, who also in the past directed many great movies such as Frankenweenie, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Batman Returns.
I highly recommend this movie to the whole family because, in my opinion, it is pure Disney Magic and if you have any spare time this Easter, go and see this movie!

Some Like It Hot
"I'm a man!Nobody's  perfect!"

Some Like It Hot is a comedy starring Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis.
I like this film because it is very funny, especially at the end when Jack Lemmon attempts to pass as a woman and is engaged. He says to his fiancé "I'm a man!" and he says back, "nobody's perfect"
Out of all the movies I've watched, that scene is my favourite.
Jack Lemmon, who portrays Jerry, and Tony Curtis, who plays saxophone player Joe, are on the run from a gang after they witness a mafia murder. They need to escape Chicago, but how?

Singing in the Rain
SECRETS
To spray so much water, high pressure was needed and when people got home from work, there was a massive pressure loss.
Gene Kelly had a dangerously high fever and between shots, the film crew would try to dry his suit to prevent him from catching pneumonia.
The sequence that Kelly used has also been used in many other films such as in 'in Shanghai Knights'.
The cameraman had to backlight the in order to make it show up.
Gene Kelly was always a second or two late although he had had many rehearsals.
So Kelly could see where he was supposed to splash, the filmakers dug into the cement and then filled them with water.
